MEET THE FOUNDER
GIA MEANS "HOME, FAMILY"
GIA STUDIO was founded by Ngoc Gia Lam, a former events manager who took an interest in floristry during her 4 years in the events industry working alongside talented florists in the vibrant city of melbourne.
"I'm a visual learner. passionate about arts, visual communication and designs, i was captivated by the world of floristry. Every arrangement is a creative opportunity as no two flowers are ever the same. Diving into the deep end of the business world during the pandemic was one of the most nerve-wrecking moments of my life. but, my GIA STUDIO dreams never lost its sparkles. It was a journey with many twists and turns, but what I loved the most is the incredible connections I've made along the way and building a creative space that felt like home."
OUR FOOTPRINT
Working with a natural product, we understand it is our responsibility to nurture and respect the roots of our beautiful blooms and leave minimal impact on our environment. With this in mind, we have replaced two commonly used materials with sustainable alternatives that are biodegradable and compostable. Gia Studio is committed to sourcing sustainable solutions where possible and is working towards a minimal to no-waste practice.
COMPOSTABLE BAGS
Our bag used to contain the wet towels are made from biodegradable materials, mainly corn starch and PBAT. These will completely break down within 90-120 days in a home-compostable environment. In addition, we also use PollastiTM mailers made from 100% recycled ocean-bound plastic pollution. Pollastic mailers are not compostable but should be recycled with soft plastics.
BIODEGRADABLE WRAPS
Our wet towels wrapped around the stems to keep your flowers fresh during delivery are made from spruce and pine grown in regenerated forests. They will break down completely in compost and are great to re-use as weed matting!
FLORAL FOAM FREE
Oasis floral foams are commonly used to hydrate flowers for up to 4 days without additional water; however, it is made from synthetic, non-recyclable plastic and is harmful to the environment. We are committed to saying NO to floral foams.
GIFT CARD / THANK YOU NOTES
Our cards are 100% sustainable, FSC certified, made in a process that is chlorine-free, and manufactured from 100% post-consumer recycled content.
